Welcome back!

Welcome back everybody! What a fabulous week we have had. It has been lovely to see our new children settling in with their peers in their Year 4 classrooms.

Here is Libby who has started school in Australia. We wish her all the best - she is enjoying life there so far!

So far we have been very busy learning new routines and expectations. We have shared our holiday stories and started our new topic on Under Attack. We are looking at the attempts of conquering Britain and thinking about how the Roman legionaries must have been feeling during that time.

On Wednesday we had a lovely afternoon being 'ologists'! We walked to the farm to the field where there was once a Roman settlement. As archaeologists we were busy 'combing' the area looking for Roman artefacts. We will be looking closer at our finds next week when we will be sorting them into groups. Mr Campbell was very impressed with some of our haul!

 and we're off!
 Collecting Roman artefacts

Mrs Wallace was busy foraging blackberries for the archeologists!

In RE we have been learning about Hinduism and looking at places where Hindus worship collectively and independently. We have reflected about our special places and have been collecting important items for our class shrine.

Just like the sunshine; this week has gone in a flash!  Have a great weekend everybody!
