U9A Copthill Kwik Cricket v Ratcliffe - Wednesday 19th June 2019

U9A Cricket V Ratcliffe

Copthill batted first and punished the Ratcliffe bowling, scoring twenty-seven fours and five sixes.  Communication was also generally good and some pairs picked up some excellent singles.  Henry was the pick of the batsmen.  Copthill managed 184 off twenty-four overs, losing ten wickets.
When Ratcliffe batted, our bowling was good in patches, though we gave away a number of wides and no balls.  Our fielding was excellent and without big hitters, we pinned Ratcliffe back, not allowing them to build their score.  Pick of the bowlers was Adam.  Ratcliffe had to leave befotre their final pair batted, however with a score of 75 off twenty overs, losing eight wickets, they were never going to reach our total.
Dexter captained the team and it was a promising all round display with some very good teamwork.  We will need to learn how to remain quiet whilst waiting to bat so that we do not distract our batsmen or their bowlers.
