UP!

Look at the amazing construction that Year 4 made during our Architecture Morning!  The children learnt that a triangle is stronger than a square to make pillars and the roof of a Roman temple. They learnt how to construct a bypod, tripod and tetrapod using only sticks and rubber bands.

Here are some photos of the event:

Pretty impressive hey?! So next time you are having a garden party - you know who to employ to get your gazebo built!

Year 4 have made the most of the glorious weather and had an afternoon with Mr Teesdale, Mr Campbell, Mrs Wallace and Mrs Donaldson doing team building games, learning about rocks and mending the Roman road leading up to the Fort! The children marched and chanted just like Roman soldiers!

Mrs Donaldson's Maths group had a visit from Mr Thomas this week - he showed us some fantastic place value games using a 9 sided dice.

We also went to the field to complete our work on finding Fractions of a shape.

We celebrated Mrs Wallace's birthday on Friday - the packaging from her birthday present helped us to put the finishing touches to our Roman Temple display on the Year 4 landing - we will post photos of that next week! Well worth the wait!

Have a great weekend!
